CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville's Milan Ristic has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Friday.

The junior sprinter turned in a school record time of 7.21 to win the 55-meter hurdles at the Appalachian State Invitational over the weekend. The time was also a Big South Conference and meet record.

"Milan just picked up where he left off last season," stated Bulldog coach Jesse Norman. "He's worked very hard in the off-season to get better and last Saturday showed some of those results of hard work. What's great about Milan is that he's only going to get better."

Both Bulldog track teams are in the midst of exams right now. Asheville will compete again in the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State the weekend of Jan. 18-19.
