ATLANTA - The UNC Asheville men's and women's track team had several participants at last weekend's Georgia Tech Invitational.
Sophomore sprinter Milan Ristic managed to qualify for the finals of 110-meter hurdles and finished in fifth place against a strong field with a time of 14.02. Included in the field was two time Olympic silver medalist Terrance Trammell who finished second in the race. Ristic ran 14.00 in the preliminaries.
Kurt Hibert took seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.87 meters and in 15th in the discus at 42.61 meters.
Sarah Gentry competed in the 800 meters and posted a time of 2:12 against an excellent field. She finished 22nd in the race.
In the 5000 meters, both Bulldog teams had representatives. On the women's side, Melanie Kulesz came in 11th at 18:01, while teammate Adrian Etheridge finished at 18:49 and in 18th place. Kevin Paradise ran the 5000 on the men's side and came in 18th at 15:29.
