ESKISEHIR, Turkey - UNC Asheville sprinter Milan Ristic, representing his native country of Serbia, captured the 110 meter High Hurdles this weekend at the Balkan Athletics Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
Ristic easily won the race by finishing with a time of 13.95 over eight other sprinters. Earlier this summer, he won the Serbian National Championship in the 110.
The rising junior captured the 110 event at the Big South Outdoor Championships back in April. He won the 60 meter hurdles in the Big South Indoor Championships in February.
Ristic qualified for the NCAA Outdoor preliminary qualifying round in the 110 and set a new school record with a time of 13.87 back in June. He just missed qualifying for the NCAA Nationals as he finished in 14th place and needed to get to 12th.
The Balkan Federation consists of 11 countries including Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Serbia.
