HIGH POINT, N.C. – Corey McClintock finished in second place in the hammer throw on Saturday to highlight UNC Asheville’s performance on the second and final day of the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point.


McClintock took second in the event with a school record throw of 49.45 meters. She beat her previous record set two weeks ago at Charlotte.


On the men’s side, Kurt Hibert had a solid day for the Bulldogs. He finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 47.96 meters which was a new PR for him. Hibert also took fourth in the hammer throw at 54.52 meters.


In sprint events, Kassandra Pierre placed seventh in the 200 meters at a time of 25.77. She competed in the 400 meter hurdles and finished with a time of 1:01.70 which is a new school record, breaking her previous mark set two weeks ago at Charlotte.


Kelsie Rubino placed eighth in the 800 meters at 2:19.60.


Meredith Ristic came in eighth in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters. Argia Gibson claimed ninth in the triple jump at 11.03 meters.


Courtney Henry took 10th on the men’s side in the long jump with a leap of 6.54 meters.


Chase Stevens finished 10th in the 800 meters as he posted a time of 1:58.47 and that's a new PR for Stevens.


Asheville 4x400 women’s relay team claimed seventh against a strong field as they posted a time of 4:01.89.


The men’s 4x400 relay team took 11th with a time of 3:26.97
