SPARTANBURG, S.C. - UNC Asheville picked up three singles victories but couldn't get the doubles point as Wofford edged the Bulldogs 4-3 in men's college tennis action Tuesday afternoon.


The match was the season-opener for Asheville (0-1). Wofford won the doubles point with a win at the #1 and #3 flights.


In singles play, the Bulldogs picked up impressive victories from Adrien Langeard at #1 and Daniel Kripak at #2. Langeard down Drew Dupersein in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Kripak downed Jackson Keith 6-1, 6-2. John Schubel won at #5 singles in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.


The Bulldogs return this weekend for their first home matches of the season. Asheville entertains App State on Saturday and Mars Hill on Sunday. Both matches will be at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown and start at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
