ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team gets back to work this weekend with two key Big South Conference home matches at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.

The Bulldogs host Coastal Carolina Friday at 1 p.m., followed by a date with defending BSC champion Radford on Saturday, also at 1 p.m.  Admission is free.

Asheville is 7-4 on the season and 1-1 in league play. The Bulldogs have not played since last Wednesday (March 13) when they won at Longwood, 5-2.

The Chanticleers are 6-4 on the season and 2-0 in league play, including a 4-3 victory over Radford earlier this season. The Highlanders are 3-7 on the season and 0-2 in league player. However, RU has played a rugged non-conference schedule and both league losses were by 4-3 scores.

The Bulldogs have had a solid line-up all year from top to bottom. Adrien Langeard is 7-2 as Asheville’s top player. John Schubel is 6-2 at #5 flight.

“This is a big weekend for us,” commented Bulldog assistant coach Tom Hand. “We’ve had a good break and we’re anxious to play these matches against two very good teams.”
