ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team hits the road on Saturday to play its match of the regular season at Radford starting at 11 a.m.

Tom Hand’s club looks to end a frustrating five-game losing streak. Asheville (7-13, 1-6 BSC) has been in most of its matches this season but lost a lot of close affairs. The Bulldogs have dropped five 4-3 decisions this year, including two of the last three matches. Asheville fell to Campbell on Saturday, 4-3 and Gardner-Webb on Thursday, 4-3.

The Bulldogs knocked off Radford last season, 5-2 as the victory gave Asheville its first win over the Highlanders in close to 10 years. RU is 6-11 overall and 3-4 in league play.

Josh Swindler has been a bright spot for the Dogs this year with 11 wins in singles action. Daniel Kripak has posted 10 wins on the year. Alex Crocker and Brett Landau have been formidable this year at #1 doubles and bring a 12-7 record into Saturday’s action.

The seeding for next week’s Big South Championship at Gardner-Webb will be announced Sunday evening by the league office.
