BOILING-SPRINGS, N.C. – For the third straight match, the UNC Asheville men’s tennis team lost a Big South Conference road contest by a score of 4-3.


Gardner-Webb won a close doubles point by winning three close matches. The Runnin’ Bulldogs squeaked past the Bulldogs by winning three singles matches. It was Asheville’s fourth BSC loss this season by a 4-3 score.  The Dogs dropped to 9-9 overall and 2-6 in league play. Asheville has lost those three straight 4-3 matches in the last six days,


The Bulldogs got a singles victory from Adrien Langeard at #1 as he defeated Adam Knutsson in three sets. He won 7-6 (9-7), 6-7 (3-7), 11-9.


Matt Waissen won at #2 singles over Benjamin Kaszas, 6-3, 6-3. Daniel Kripak rolled past Roman Piftor, 6-2, 6-3 at #3 flight.


Asheville will host King College on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.  Prior to the match, the Bulldogs will honor their four seniors – Adrien Langeard, Matt Waissen, Pete Conaty and Ryan Matthews.
