ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville Men's Tennis team will be at home twice this weekend as the Bulldogs hope to continue their winning ways.
Asheville hosts Lees-McRae on Saturday at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center starting at Noon. This is a rescheduled match that was originally supposed to take place in Banner Elk last weekend but was rained out and the match has been moved to Asheville.
On Sunday, the Bulldogs welcome Georgia State to the Crowne Plaza for a 1 p.m. match. The Panthers are coached by former Asheville head coach Chase Hodges.
Both Lees-McRae and Georgia State will see an improved Asheville team this weekend. The Bulldogs are 5-4 on the season and have won four of their last five matches. Included in that stretch are impressive road wins over Davidson and Charlotte.
"We're playing some good tennis right now," stated Assistant Coach Tom Hand. "Finally, we've begun to win those close matches that we were losing before. We're getting key points in key situations. There's still plenty of room for improvement but we're certainly headed in the right direction."
