Asheville Men Bounce Back With 5-2 Win Over Presbyterian
CLINTON, S.C. – The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team picked up its first Big South Conference victory of the season on Sunday afternoon, earning a 5-2 win over Presbyterian College at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

With the win the Bulldogs improve to 8-9 on the year overall, with a 1-3 mark in conference play. Presbyterian drops to 11-12 overall with the loss.
Asheville picked up the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. Jonas Brobeck and Matt Waissen defeated Rafael Berghaus and Grayson Mills 8-6, Nicholas Nonnenbroich and Nathan White survived a scare from Gonzalo Asis and Andrew Brigham for a 9-8 win and Adrien Langeard and Thomas Rees defeated Edward Snead and Zachary Sprouse 8-4.
In singles competition Langeard defeated Brigham 6-0, 6-4 while Nonnenbroich defeated Berghaus 6-3, 7-5. Ryan Matthews earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Asis and Brobeck defeated Kenneth Mooney 6-3, 6-2 to give the Bulldogs four singles points.
Mills defeated Waissen 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 and Sprouse defeated Rees 6-3, 7-6 for PC’s two points on the day.
The Bulldogs will host Big South foes Liberty and Coastal Carolina next weekend. Asheville will take on the Flames at 11 p.m. on Saturday before taking on the Chanticleers at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
