ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team picked up its ninth win of the season with a 6-1 victory over visiting North Carolina Central Saturday afternoon at the ARC.


Asheville (9-6) won the doubles point and then claimed five singles match to win the non-conference match.


In doubles play, Asheville earned the point by winning the first and third flights. Adrien Langeard and Matt Waissen won at #1 flight, 8-3. The Bulldogs earned the first point when the #3 flight of Alex Croker and Brett Landau won their match, 8-5.


The home team dominated singles play. Asheville won the first five singles matches. Alex Croker rallied from losing the first set, 0-6 but roared back to defeat Stephan Charles at #4 flight, 6-4, 6-4.


Asheville is back in action this Wednesday afternoon when the Bulldogs travel to Presbyterian College for a BSC match starting at 2 p.m.
