ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team is on the road this weekend for two Big South Conference matches in the state of Virginia.

 

The Bulldogs play at Radford Sunday afternoon at 1p.m., followed by a match at Liberty Monday, also starting at 1 p.m.

 

Tom Hand’s club stands at 7-8 overall and 1-1 in league action. Asheville enjoyed a win over Radford last season for the first time in 10 seasons. Liberty edged the Dogs, 4-3 at home.

 

The Bulldogs have battled hard this year as they have lost three 4-3 matches, including falling to #75 Charlotte last Friday at home.

 

Brett Landau and Thomas Panoulas lead Asheville in singles victories with eight. Josh Swindler and Poulas have combined to go 7-2 in doubles action at #3 flight.

 

Radford is 2-10 on the season but 2-3 in league play. The Highlanders played an extremely tough non-conference schedule. Liberty has posted an 8-8 overall record and is 1-2 in BSC action.
