ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team opens Big South Conference play on Saturday at home as the Bulldogs host Radford University at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center starting at 11 a.m.
Asheville will try and break a three-match losing streak. The Bulldogs are 5-6 on the season but have been hampered with injuries this year. Asheville has not played since a March 7 loss to UNC Greensboro, 6-1. In the Bulldogs three losses, they have not fielded a full team to play singles.
The Bulldogs and Highlanders split matches last year as Asheville downed RU, 5-2 in the regular season before falling 4-3 in the quarterfinals of the Big South Tournament.
Stephanie Schon leads the Asheville effort this year. She is 8-3 in singles action.
