Women’s Tennis Falls To Presbyterian, 4-3
CLINTON, S.C. – UNC Asheville lost the doubles point and then split the singles competition with Presbyterian College to fall to the Blue Hose, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Big South Conference women’s tennis play.

Devon Cavanuagh and Britney Cloer defeated the team of Patricia Alves and Courtney Gardiner 8-2 for the Bulldogs only victory in doubles play. PC’s Christina Limantoro and Paige Oelke defeated Zoe Hamel and Stephanie Schon 8-1 while Cara Caruso and Lindsay Krause defeated Jackie McGuirk and Nicole Schon 8-3, earning the doubles point with the two wins.
In singles play Cloer defeated Oelke 6-3, 6-4, Stephanie Schon defeated Gardiner 6-3, 6-2 and Hamel defeated Alves 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to earn three points for the Blue & White. However, Cavanaugh was forced to withdraw in the No. 2 singles competition, Caruso defeated Nicole Schon 6-1, 6-2 and Krause defeated McGuirk 6-3, 6-3 as the Blue Hose picked up three points of their own.
With the loss Asheville falls to 6-14 on the season overall with a 0-6 mark in the Big South. PC improves to 9-12 on the year.
The Bulldogs will host Big South foe Liberty on Saturday afternoon as part of a doubleheader with the men’s teams.
