ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s tennis team opened the 2014 season with a 7-0 victory over Mars Hill Saturday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.


The Bulldogs were in complete command of the match as the only one point in doubles action. In singles action, Zoe Hamel had to go three sets to get a win but all five players won in straight sets. Asheville’s 4-6 players combined to lose just three games in their matches.


Asheville (1-0) is in action again next Sunday (Jan. 26) when the Bulldogs host Lees-McRae at the ARC.
