ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s tennis teams welcome Central Florida to the Asheville Racquet Club Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Admission is free.


This is a first-time meeting between the Bulldogs and Knights. Asheville will bring a 6-2 worksheet into Tuesday’s action, while the Knights are 3-5 on the season after a 4-3 loss at Furman on Sunday.


The Bulldogs are off to their best start in more than 10 seasons after opening Big South Conference play with a 7-0 victory over Longwood on Sunday. Emily McNall leads the Bulldogs as she’s 7-0 in singles play and 5-0 in doubles action.


Sophomore Ericka Rivero is having a fine season, as well. She has a 6-1 record in singles play and she and Zoe Hamel are 7-0 in doubles action at #1 flight.


The Bulldogs get back in conference play on Thursday when they host Gardner-Webb at 1 p.m. and then finish the week with a home match against King College Friday at 2 p.m.
