ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s tennis team stayed perfect in the Big South Conference with a hard-fought 5-2 victory over visiting Gardner-Webb Thursday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.


The Bulldogs (7-3, 2-0 BSC) earned the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. Asheville won four singles matches, all in straight sets as the home team enjoyed its first victory over the Runnin’ Bulldogs (7-3, 1-1 BSC) in four seasons.


The Blue & White got singles wins from Zoe Hamel at #1 flight, Amryn Solider at #4 flight, Emily McNall at #5 flight and Gillian Lewis at #6.


Asheville is back in action Friday afternoon when the Bulldogs host King College at the ARC starting at 2 p.m.
