ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team will be the sixth seed in the Big South Conference Championship this week that will be held at Gardner-Webb University starting on Thursday.
The Bulldogs will face third-seeded High Point in the quarterfinals of the tourney on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Asheville lost to the Panthers on the road back on Oct. 26, 3-0.
This will be the third time the schools have squared off in the tournament. Asheville earned a 3-1 win in the 2002 quarterfinals and then edged the Panthers in the 2007 quarterfinals in five sets.
The Bulldogs (11-19, 7-7 BSC) will look to bounce back from a tough ending to the season. Asheville lost in three sets to Liberty and Radford this past weekend.
