ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team’s match with North Carolina A&T on Thursday night has been designated as Pink Out as the Bulldogs do their part to help support the fight against breast cancer. Thursday’s match at Justice Center will start at 7 p.m.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Bulldogs will be raising money and proving information for the Ladies Night Out program. Ladies Night Out provides free mammograms to uninsured women.

To date, more than 2,800 women have been screened with 36 cases of breast cancer detected. It is a life-saving resource benefitting local women without insurance. This program is a joint operation between Mission Hospital and Buncombe Country Health & Human Services.

Thursday’s game will have a silent auction, stat pledges and donations for pink ribbons. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to support this worthy cause.

Additional gifts for the Ladies Night Out program may be made by going to Mission Foundation Online Donations and designating Ladies Night Out in the drop down menu.
