ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Senior libero Rachel Wells is ranked ninth nationally in digs according to the latest NCAA statistics.
Wells has posted 494 digs on the season and her 5.55 per set averaged is second best in the Big South and ninth in the nation. The Statesville native has been in double figures in digs in 23 of Asheville’s 24 matches. She posted a season-high of 35 at Gardner-Webb on Oct. 18.
The Bulldogs are 14th nationally and second in the Big South in digs as a team. They have a 17.15 per set average and have accumulated 1,526 this season.
Asheville is home twice this weekend for two key Big South Conference matches at Justice Center. The Bulldogs host High Point Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a match with Campbell Saturday at 4 p.m. Both matches can be on the Big South Network for free.
