LYNCHBURG, Va. – Playing in the final regular season match of the season before the Big South Conference Tournament the UNC Asheville volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to the home-standing Liberty Flames on Saturday afternoon at the Vines Center, falling 14-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-19 and 10-15.

With the victory Liberty improved to 23-8 overall with a 14-2 mark in the Big South while the Bulldogs had their seven-match win streak come to an end as they fall to 19-11 and 11-5 in league play.

Asheville’s offense never got on track in the contest finishing the match with only 35 kills and a .081 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Kelsey Benorden recorded a team-high 10 kills for the Bulldogs with Cindi Miller chipping in nine of her own.
