ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team looks for its 10th win of the season Tuesday night when the Bulldogs host USC Upstate at Justice Center starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Tuesday’s match will be seen live for free on the Big South Digital Network which can be accessed at under the multi-media tag.

Asheville is coming off a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Gardner-Webb Friday night at Justice Center. Christine Lakotos had a career-high 22 kills in the victory.

The Spartans are 1-10 on the year but have played a challenging schedule. USC Upstate knocked off the Bulldogs in Spartanburg last season in four sets.

“We continue to work on our consistency and try to get better with each practice and each match,” commented Asheville coach Frederico Santos. “Tomorrow’s match will be challenging. Upstate’s record is very misleading as they’ve played a tough non-conference schedule. We’ll need to play at our best to have a chance at winning.”

The Bulldogs look to build some momentum for this weekend’s first Big South Conference road trip. Asheville plays at Radford Friday night and then takes on two-time defending league champ Liberty Saturday at 2 p.m.
