HIGH POINT, N.C. –The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2013 University Division All-State Volleyball Teams on Monday. UNC Asheville placed two players on the first team and one player on the second team.


Senior blocker Anna Moore and senior libero Rachel Wells made the first time, while sophomore outside hitter Christine Lakatos made the second team.


Moore was a first-team All-Big South honoree while leading the Bulldogs in blocks (0.99 per set) and attack percentage (.326). Wells was also a first-team All Big South honoree as she currently leads the nation in digs with a 6.38 average. The Statesville native set a school record for digs in a match with 54 against Radford on Nov. 16.


Lakatos earned a spot on the Big South’s All-Academic team. She led Asheville was second in the Big South in kills with a 3.43 average. Lakatos was second in digs on the team with a 2.45 mark.


The Bulldogs finished the season with a 17-14 overall record. It was the most wins for Asheville since the 2010 season.
