ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Four in-season tournaments plus 10 home matches at Justice Center highlights the 2013 UNC Asheville volleyball schedule that was announced by third-year head coach Frederico Santos on Tuesday.
The 30-match schedule features tournaments at Western Carolina, UT-Chattanooga, UNC Wilmington and College of Charleston in the first month of the season. Asheville’s 10 home homes matches are the most by the Blue & White since the 2010 season.
“We really like our schedule this year,” commented Santos. “I believe the tournaments early in the season will prepare us for the rigors of the Big South Conference schedule. However, we should be able to be competitive in those tournaments.
“I’m really happy to play 10 home matches at Justice Center,” added Santos. “Playing at home is such an advantage for our program. Our kids love playing here, and our fans do a great job supporting us.”
