This will be just the third time Asheville has ever played Charleston Southern in the tournament. The Bulldogs knocked off the Lady Bucs in four sets during the quarterfinals of the 1992 tournament as Asheville went on to win the tournament. The teams met again in the quarterfinals of the 2001 tournament with the Bulldogs as a fifth seed upset CSU in three sets.
The teams had two close matches this year. Asheville edged the Lady Bucs in five sets in Charleston and then slipped past them in four sets on Nov. 6 at Justice Center.
The 2010 Big South Volleyball Championship begins Thursday, Nov. 18 with four matches, and concludes with the Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 20 in Rock Hill, S.C. The Big South's tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Volleyball Tournament. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
