Junior outside hitter Cindi Miller earned first team all-conference honors, while senior outside hitter Kelsey Benorden made the second team. Freshman libero Alex Stewart earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. Senior setter Rachel Guinane was named to the All-Academic team for the second straight year.
The Bulldogs are the third seed in the Big South Championship as play begins on Thursday with quarterfinal action. Asheville will face sixth-seeded Charleston Southern starting at 2:30 p.m.
Miller enjoyed a sensational junior campaign. She averaged 3.90 kills per set to lead the Bulldogs. The Illinois native averaged 3.06 digs per set. Miller was named to two all-tournament teams during the year and was named Big South Player of the Week twice on the season.
Benorden was second on team in kills with a 3.40 average and in digs with a 3.57 average. She led Asheville in service aces with 33. The Knoxville native was named Big South Player of the Week twice during the season and was also named to two different all-tournament teams during the year.
Stewart, a native of Hendersonville, N.C. and former standout at West Henderson HS, led Asheville in digs with a 4.34 average during the season. Stewart was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season.
Guinane averaged 7.96 assists per set this year. She has made the Big South Presidential Honor Roll three times during her career and also been named to the Athletic Director's 3.0 & Above Club six different times.
