ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team is back in action this weekend as the Bulldogs return to Justice Center for two important Big South Conference volleyball matches. Asheville hosts league newcomer Campbell on Friday night starting at 7 p.m., followed by a match Saturday vs. defending BSC champion High Point at 5 p.m. Both matches will be video-streamed and can be seen for a small cost at www.uncabulldogs.com.

The Bulldogs (12-9, 5-3 BSC) won two straight last weekend on the road as they knocked off Coastal Carolina last Friday night, 3-1 and then roared past Charleston Southern, 3-0 on Saturday.

"I was very pleased how we played last weekend," stated first-year Bulldog coach Frederico Santos. "We were focused and carried out our game-plan to get the job done in two tough places to play. However, we must repeat what we did last week against two strong opponents at home. We will need to be at our best this weekend."

One big reason for Asheville's wins last weekend was the play of Anna Moore. The sophomore outside hitter was named Big South Player of the Week for her efforts. Moore had 26 kills and hit. 310 in the two matches against Coastal Carolina and CSU.

The Bulldogs are in third place in the latest BSC standings. Campbell and High Point are tied for fifth with 4-4 league marks.

The Camels (11-13, 4-4 BSC) are coming off two exciting five-set home wins last weekend over Presbyterian College and High Point. This will be the first time Campbell has played at Justice Center since the 2000 season when the Camels were here for a tournament.

The Panthers will bring a deceiving 6-16 overall record to Justice Center. High Point played a demanding non-conference schedule in the first part of the year. This is still a team that won the Big South Conference crown last year. Asheville split with the Panthers a year ago as HPU won 3-0 at home before the Bulldogs won 3-1 at Justice Center.

"Both Campbell and High Point have good teams," explained Santos. "They both have posted some good results on the year and will be ready to play this weekend."

UNC Asheville is 3-1 at home this season. The Bulldogs are 16-3 in BSC home matches over the past three years.

Asheville is second in the Big South in hitting percentage at .188.

Cindi Miller leads the Big South in kills at 3.59 per set.

Jaimie Dorfman is third in the league in service aces (0.35). Rachel Wells is sixth at 0.31.

Alex Stewart is second in digs at 4.56.
