Miller, Moore & Morse Earn All-Conference Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Senior outside hitter Cindi Miller was named to the Big South Conference's First Team while fellow Bulldog Anna Moore earned Second Team honors for their efforts on the court this season, it was announced Wednesday evening, as senior setter Hallie Morse was named to the All-Academic Team for her efforts in the classroom.

For Miller this is her second appearance on the first team after earning the honor last season. A native of Decatur, Ind., Miller led the Big South in kills averaging 3.53 per set. She Posted a season-high 23 kills against Gardner-Webb on Sept. 23 and recorded 20 or more kills in two matches. She posted double digit kills in 21 matches.

Miller posted a season-high 22 digs twice on the year, once against Western Carolina on Sept. 13 and against Liberty on Nov. 12. She accounted for 378.0 points on the year and tallied double digit digs in 13 matches. She was named to the 2011 Big South Preseason All-Conference Team and is now sixth all time at UNC Asheville with 1,412 kills.

Moore led Asheville in blocks with 84 on the year and finished second on the team in kills with 257 and hitting percentage with a mark of .241. She tied for eighth in the league in blocks. Moore scored a career-high 18 kills at Winthrop on Nov. 4 and posted double digit kills in 11 matches this season.

She was named the Big South Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 24 and posted three or more blocks in 15 matches including a career-high 11.0 blocks against Presbyterian College on Nov. 7. Moore recorded a career-high 14 digs against Troy on Aug. 26 and was one of four Bulldogs to play every set in 2011.

Morse also played in every set for UNC Asheville this season, tallying 934 assists on the year. She finished fourth in the Big South in assists, averaging 9.34 per set. Morse directed Asheville's offense to a .188 team average, good for second in the league and tallied 25 or more assists in 21 matches, including all but one Big South match. She posted a career-high 63 assists against Liberty on Nov. 12 and tallied 62 assists against Troy on Aug. 26.
