Volleyball Falls to Temple in Three Sets

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team fell to Temple, 3-0 on Saturday morning in the second day of the Gamecock Invitational on the campus of South Carolina. The Owls won 25-16, 25-21, 25-20.


Asheville falls to 0-3 on the young season and plays its final match of the day against South Carolina tonight starting at 8 p.m.


Holly Shelton led the Bulldogs with seven kills and three blocks. Freshman Christine Lakatos added five kills. Anna Moore chipped in four kills and four blocks. Meredith Foster also had four kills and contributed three blocks.


Alex Stewart paced the Asheville defense with 12 digs. The Bulldogs used two setters in the match as Jaimie Dorfman and Katie Davis each has 12 assists.
