ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Presbyterian College completed a three-game Big South Conference sweep of UNC Asheville as the Blue Hose rallied for an 23-17 season-ending victory over the Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at McCormick Field.

PC trailed 9-1 after two innings but unleashed a 21-hit attack to finish the season with a four-game BSC winning streak. The Blue Hose ended its season with a 24-32 overall record and 9-18 league mark.

Asheville ended its season with a 16-game losing streak and finished the season with a 15-37 record and 7-20 league mark.

The Bulldogs had a season-high 21 hits in the game. They were led by senior Mike Vaughn who went 4-for-6 with four RBI. Cody Buch went 3-for-5 with three RBI. Grant Gajdosz added three hits and three RBI. Jordan Lure tallied three hits and four runs scored. Catlin Carter had three hits, three runs scored and two RBI.

The Blue Hose were led by freshman Brad Zebedis with went 5-for-6 with four RBI. He hit his 13th home run of the season. Kenny Bryant went 3-for-6 with four RBI and a solo home run. Tony Micklon went 3-for-5 with five. His three-run homer in the fourth inning tied the game at 11-11.

Asheville helped the PC cause by committing six errors that led to five Blue Hose runs.

The game was tied 1-1 in the second inning when Asheville sent 13 men to plate and scored eight runs to take a 9-1 lead. Buch and Vaughn delivered two-run singles in the inning.

PC began to rally in the third with four runs in the third inning to cut the lead to 9-5. The Bulldogs answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame to lead 11-5.

The Blue Hose scored eight runs in the fourth to take a 13-11 lead. They sent 15 men to the plate and took advantage of two Bulldog errors to grab the lead.

Asheville tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fourth at 13-13 as Vaughn delivered a two-run single.

PC took the lead for good in the fifth with three runs to lead 16-13. Micklon's RBI-single pushed the Blue Hose in front.

Nick Ferguson (2-0) earned the win for Blue Hose in relief.  Three Blue Hose relievers after Ferguson pitched the final four innings and limited the Bulldogs to just two hits and one run.
