BELOIT, Wis. – Former UNC Asheville pitcher Ryan Dull was promoted by the Oakland A’s on Monday night to Stockton, Oakland’s high A team in the California League.

Dull has been the Beloit Snappers closer so far this year and he’s been dominant. The Winston-Salem native has posted a league-leading 12 saves for Beloit. He has a 2.10 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work. Dull has walked just three so far this year.

Ryan was selected to play in the Midwest All-Star Game that will be played tonight in Dayton, Ohio. He will compete in that contest before heading to Stockton on Wednesday.

“We’re really proud of Ryan getting promoted,” stated Bulldog coach Tom Smith. “He’s really adjusted to pro ball, and we’re anxious to see how he does in the California League. Ryan's a great young man and it couldn't happen to a better guy."

Dull was selected by the Athletics in the 32nd round of the 2012 draft. Dull completed his career at Asheville second all-time in strikeouts (238), fifth in wins (16), fourth in innings pitched (324.1), third in complete games (10) and second in games started (51).
