ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team will have 13 players who will play this summer in various summer leagues throughout the country.


The Bulldogs will have four players competing in the Coastal Plains League.


Senior third baseman Robert McIntosh is slated to play for the Asheboro Copperheads in the Coastal Plains League. Infielders’ Hunter Bryant and Lucas Owens are scheduled to play with the Forest City Owls of the Coastal Plains League.  


Senior right-handed pitcher Ethan Steible will play for the Gastonia Grizzlies, also of the Coastal Plains League.


Right-handed pitchers Justin Hunt and outfielder Erik Connolly are scheduled to compete for the Kernersville Bulldogs in the Carolinas-Virginia League.


Outfielders’ Andrew Kirkland and Andrew Madden head down I-40 East to play with the Statesville Owls of the Southern Collegiate League.


Left-handed pitcher Zack Wiseman and infielder Justin Woods will play for the Southern Maryland Nationals in the Southern Collegiate League.


Outfielder Phillip Treadway plans to play in Myrtle Beach in the Beach League. He’ll play for the Swamp Vipers.


Left-handed pitcher Nick Schavone will travel up North and compete for the Utica Brewers in the Perfect Game League.


Right-handed pitcher Scott Robinson is slated to compete for the Plymouth Pilgrims of the New Collegiate Baseball League.


All of the leagues are starting play either this week or next week. We will have periodical updates throughout the summer on how these players are doing for their respective teams
