BELOIT, Wis. – Former UNC Asheville pitcher Ryan Dull is one of six Beloit Snappers selected to the Midwest League All-Star game to be played on June 18 at Fifth Third Field in Dayton, Ohio.
Dull will be on West Division squad. He’s enjoyed a sensational season for Beloit as the team’s closer. The former Bulldog is tied for the Western Division lead in saves with 10 and is in the midst of a 15.2 inning scoreless streak during which he's allowed five hits. He has struck out 32 and walked three in 22.2 innings. The Winston-Salem native has a 1-1 overall record with a 1.59 ERA.
Dull was selected by the Athletics in the 32nd round of the 2012 draft. Dull completed his career at Asheville second all-time in strikeouts (238), fifth in wins (16), fourth in innings pitched (324.1), third in complete games (10) and second in games started (51).
“We’re real proud of Ryan and his progress,” commented Bulldog coach Tom Smith. “He’s doing a great job as Beloit’s closer. Not too many closers get picked for an All-Star game, so that’s tell you the kind of year he’s having. We hope he keeps it up and makes it to the “show.”
