ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb pitching limited UNC Asheville to just seven hits and one run as the Runnin' Bulldogs recorded a 7-1 Big South Conference victory over the Bulldogs Thursday afternoon at Greenwood Field.

GWU starter Andrew Barnett (4-3) went the first five innings and allowed one run and seven hits. Relievers Mitch Warner and Jimmy Moore pitched the final four innings and did not give up a hit. Warner entered the game with the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of the sixth inning. He struck out the first two hitters and then got a fly out to end the inning and Asheville's last good scoring opportunity.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (29-25, 11-11 BSC) were led at the plate by Scott Coleman who went 3-for-5 with a run scored. Dusty Quattlebaum was one of four Gardner-Webb hitters that had two hits. He also had two RBI.

Asheville was led by Billy Creighton with two hits. The Bulldogs were hit by pitches five different times but just could not get a big hit when needed.
