ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team continues its homestand on Tuesday when the Bulldogs host North Carolina Central at Greenwood Field starting at 3 p.m.

Asheville (1-7) looks to end a frustrating seven-game losing streak on Tuesday. The Eagles (2-7-1) are coming off a 9-3 victory over MEAC rival North Carolina A&T on Sunday.

The Bulldogs are coming off a frustrating sweep at home to Eastern Kentucky this past weekend. Asheville ran into some great pitching against the Colonels as EKU limited the Bulldogs to just seven runs over the three-game series.  The Blue & White fell 3-1 on Friday, 5-2 on Saturday and 11-4 on Sunday.

This will be the first meeting between the Eagles and Bulldogs since the 2012 season when Asheville opened the season with a three-game sweep at N.C. Central.

Asheville is being led at the plate in the first part of the year by second baseman Kyle Towles. He’s hitting .314 with 11 hits. Six of hits have been doubles and he leads the club in RBI’s with five. Eli Miller will bring a seven-game hitting streak into Tuesday’s action.

It’s a busy week for the Bulldogs as they’ll play at Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. before heading off to Appalachian State for a three-game set this weekend with the Mountaineers.
