PLYMOUTH, Mass. – Senior left-handed pitcher Nick Schavone was another Bulldog player who enjoyed an outstanding summer league baseball experience.
Schavone pitched for the Plymouth Pilgrims of the New England Collegiate Summer League. He helped lead Plymouth to a South Division championship with his work out of the bullpen. The Pilgrims finished last in 2013.
Schavone was second on the team in appearances with 15 as he posted a 3.13 ERA. Nick struck out 24 hitters in 23 innings of work. He was not scored upon in his last 11 appearances with 11 strikeouts and only three walks (one intentional).
Nick also represented Asheville well at clinics for the Boys & Girls Club, a local agency for developmental disabilities and reading in the Plymouth elementary schools.
