Overview: Sophomore pitcher who will have a bigger role in 2009 after receiving valuable experience as a freshman...stayed in Asheville this summer and pitched for the Asheville Redbirds of the Southern Collegiate League... went 2-1 with one save and struck out 25 hitters to just six walks...enjoyed great prep career at Garner Magnet...


2008: Compiled a 1-1 record...struck out 11 hitters in 20 innings of work...appeared in 15 games...earned his first career victory with impressive 2.1 innings of scoreless relief at North Carolina A&T (3-11)...opened his college career with dominant two innings of work at Presbyterian (2-23) as he allowed just one hit and struck out two...pitched a scoreless inning in road win at Wofford (4-15).

Before UNC Asheville: Garner Magnet’s Most Outstanding Player in 2007 while earning Greater Neuse River Conference AAAA All-Conference Award...was runner-up GNRC Player of the Year...WTVD-11 "Student Athlete of the Week" for May 11, 2007, and the Garner News Player of the Week twice...had a 13-4 record in three years on the varsity team...also hit .408 as senior with four home runs and 17 RBI...has one younger sister, Rachel.
