For the fourth time this year, Jeremy Atkinson has been named Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Athlete of Week for his play this past week.


Each week the school selects a BCBSNC Athlete of the Week upon their performance from the previous week's action.


Atkinson had two great games this week in leading the Bulldogs to two key road victories. He scored 21 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists in Asheville's 79-73 win at Northeastern on Tuesday.


On Friday at Big East foe St. John's, Jeremy scored a career-high 31 points and collected nine rebounds as the Bulldogs rallied past the Red Storm, 72-65. He knocked down three 3-pointers in the second half and was 10-of-11 from the free throw line. Atkinson scored 23 points in the second half to help Asheville erase a 17-point deficit.


The Elm City, N.C. native has scored in double figures in all 12 of Asheville's games this season and are the Bulldogs leading scorer and rebounder.


Atkinson and the Bulldogs will be off for a few days before Christmas. They'll play again on Sunday, Dec. 30 at Kimmel Arena when Asheville hosts Bluefield at 2 p.m.
