TAMPA, Fla. – Former Bulldog men’s basketball player Chris Stephenson is now playing for Tampa Bay Rebels of the Florida Basketball Association.  He was named Player of the Week for the league for his stellar player earlier this week.

Stephenson, who helped lead UNC Asheville to Big South Conference championships in 2011 and 2012, averaged 26.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in the Rebels two victories last week.

Tampa Bay is 5-0 on the season with Stephenson the club’s leading scorer as he averaging 22 points per game.

“Chris is doing a good job on both ends of the floor,” declared Fernando Rojas, the head coach and General Manager of the Rebels. “He can play several positions effectively. However, his most important addition to our team has been his leadership skills.”
