School Announces Contest to Win 6thFan Scholarship

After securing the 10th seed nationally in the NCAA 6th Fan contest, UNC Asheville has been awarded $10,000 for student scholarships.  Scholarships will be awarded during the week's leading up to the 2014 NCAA Basketball Championships and will be applied for the 2014-2015 school  year.

Students can be eligible to win in two ways.

1. All students who attend the men's basketball games against Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern and the women's basketball games against Campbell and Coastal Carolina will receive one entry per game to win $5,000 in scholarship money.  Students must check in prior to halftime at each game to be entered, and only one entry per game.  The drawing for the scholarship will be held March 1st at the men's basketball game against Gardner-Webb, and the student must be present to win.*

2. Students can win money weekly by tweeting or voting on Facebook with the phrase "@AshevilleDogs (Student's Full Name) is #UNCA #6thFan"  A winner will be drawn each round of the tournament as long as UNC Asheville is still in the competition with each winner receiving $1,000 of scholarship money.*

* Regulations of 6th Fan Scholarship,

1. If you are currently receiving or intend to receive Financial Aid at UNC Asheville and  receive the 6th Fan scholarship, it is possible that your federal and state aid would be adjusted to compensate for this scholarship. 

2. As recipient of this scholarship you must be enrolled as a full time student in 2014-2015.
3. As recipient of this scholarship you must be attending UNC Asheville, this scholarship is not transferable.
4. If  you have a break in enrollment, you will not be eligible to reinstate the scholarship.
