ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Four former UNC Asheville men’s basketball players are scheduled to play in the annual Crossfire-ACC All-Star game that will be held at Kimmel Arena on Saturday, April 12 at 4 p.m.


Playing for the ACC All-Stars will be senior center D.J. Cunningham and senior forward Jaron Lane. Both just completed their playing career for the Bulldogs. Cunningham completed his career as the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots with 278. He led the Bulldogs and Big South Conference in rebounding (9.9) and blocked shots this year (98).


Lane finished his career 17th all-time in career scoring with 1,298 points. He was Asheville’s second leading scorer (16.5) and rebounder (5.5) this season. Both Cunningham and Lane were second team All-Conference selections this season with Cunningham earning a spot on the Big South All-Tournament team.


Playing for Crossfire will be former Bulldog great Matt Dickey. The 2012 graduate of UNC Asheville helped lead Asheville to the 2011 and 2012 Big South Conference championships. Dickey was the 2011 Big South Tournament MVP and 2012 Big South Player of the Year. Matt finished his career as the program’s third all-time leading scorer with 1,778 points.


The co-founder of Crossfire is former UNC Asheville guard Randy Shepherd. He graduated from the school in 1988 and was the Bulldogs starting point guard through the mid-80's.
