HIGH POINT, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's basketball team finishes up the regular season Sunday afternoon when the Bulldogs battle High Point at the Millis Center starting at 4 p.m. Sunday's game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio (1310-AM) starting with the pre-game show at 3:30 p.m. The game will also be video-streamed at www.uncabulldogs.com.
Asheville looks to avenge a 94-75 loss to High Point back on Jan. 8. The Panthers have defeated the Bulldogs three straight times by an average margin of 22 points.
Asheville had a two-game winning streak snapped at Liberty on Friday night, 72-58. However, the Bulldogs were in the game most of the way despite not having the services of leading rebounders and fourth-leading scorer Kelli Riles.
"We have a tough assignment with High Point," commented Asheville coach Betsy Blose. "They've really seemed to have our number the last few years. It will be their Senior Day, so we're going to have to be ready to play for 40 minutes from the start."
Kendall Shepard continues to play well for Asheville as she scored a game-high 21 points at Liberty. Lindsey Montgomery scored her 1,000th point at Liberty on Friday.
The Bulldogs will be returning to High Point next week when they play in the Big South Conference Tournament on Friday against an opponent yet to be determined.
