ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's basketball coach Betsy Blose has been selected for two prestigious events in the coaching profession this summer.
Last month, she was one of 28 women's coaches from around the country selected to attend the Center for Coaching Excellence that was held at Columbia University from June 10-12. It was partly sponsored by Connecticut head coach Geno Auriemma. The event had speakers, panels and discussions aimed at leadership training.
"I want to thank the NCAA, WBCA, Columbia University and Geno Auriemma for providing myself and others to attend this conference," stated Blose. "I take pride in continuing to grow in my profession and I certainly was given that opportunity over those three days."
In July, Blose will take part in a mock bracketing seminar hosted by the NCAA in Indianapolis. The event allows coaches to see how the NCAA Women's Basketball Committee selects teams for the tournament and how they're seeded."
"I am excited about the opportunity of taking part in the mock bracketing experience put on by the NCAA," declared Blose. "I've always been interested in how the committee selects our field of 64 teams.
