ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team opened the 2013 season in dominating fashion with a 7-0 victory over Lees-McRae Saturday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.


The Bulldogs (1-0) won all nine matches handily as the swept the doubles point and picked up six singles win without coming close to losing a set.  Four players won singles matches without losing a game.


"This was a nice way to start the season," commented Asheville coach Lise Gregory. "We played well for it being our first match. Davidson will be a little tougher tomorrow but it's good to get the first match out of the way."


Asheville is back in action on Sunday when the Bulldogs travel to Southern Conference foe Davidson at 1 p.m.
