ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's basketball team will host its annual Pink Zone game on Saturday afternoon at Kimmel Arena when the Bulldogs host Big South rival Coastal Carolina starting at 2 p.m.

Saturday's game will be broadcast locally on WPEK Radio (880-AM) starting at 1:45 p.m. The game with the Chanticleers will be video-streamed and can be seen for a small fee under the multimedia tag at www.uncabulldogs.com.

Fans will receive a free pink pom-pom when they enter Saturday's game. The Bulldogs are planning to wear pink as part of their uniform to help promote breast cancer awareness. UNC Asheville will also be accepting donations for the Mission Cancer Center that helps breast cancer survivors and promotes research to this dreaded disease.

Following Saturday game, the Bulldogs will host a free clinic at Justice Center. The team will sign autographs after the clinic is finished.

The Bulldogs are in search of their first Big South Conference on Saturday when they host Coastal Carolina at Kimmel Arena. Asheville lost a close 54-48 decision to Charleston Southern at home Thursday night. The Chanticleers bring a three-game winning streak into this afternoon's action. CCU has not played since a thrilling 52-51 home win over Radford last Saturday when the Chants wiped out an eight-point Highlander lead in the second half. The teams met in Conway on Jan. 26 with CCU using a late surge to slip past Asheville, 73-62.

Senior forward Kelli Riles continues to make her move on being the first UNC Asheville player in the Division I era to score 1,000 career points and grab 1,000 career rebounds. She enters the today's contest with 986 rebounds and 972 points. Riles is averaging a double-double this year with 10.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. She has scored in double figures in eight straight games and 11 of the last 12 contests.

A bright spot in the loss to Charleston Southern on Thursday was the play of freshman guard Paige Love. She enjoyed her first double-double of her young career with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Coastal Carolina (10-12, 5-7 BSC) hopes to end a three-game losing streak in Asheville. The Chanticleers have not won in Asheville since the 2008-09 season when the Chants edged the Bulldogs, 75-70 at Justice Center.

Asheville hits the road next week for two Big South Conference games. Asheville will travel to High Point Thursday night and then head to Campbell next Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. The Bulldogs return home on Feb. 21 when they host defending Big South champion Liberty at Kimmel Arena starting at 7 p.m. Asheville's final home game of the year will take on Homecoming Saturday on Feb. 23 when the Bulldogs host league newcomer Longwood at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs will honor their three seniors following that game.
