Incoming freshman men's soccer player Kenneth Lingerfelt played in two All-Star Games this month.
The former Asheville HS standout first played in the Clash of the Carolinas All-Star Game that was played at Blackbaud Stadium in Daniel Island, S.C. earlier this month. The game pitted the top prep players from North Carolina vs. the top prep players from South Carolina. Lingerfelt started at midfield and played well as South Carolina edged North Carolina, 3-2.
On Tuesday night, he played for the West squad in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game played at UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium in Greensboro. Lingerfelt started at forward as the East edged the West, 3-2.
He was an All-Conference player for Asheville HS last fall with 20 goals and 14 assists. Lingerfelt was the 2008 Asheville Citizen-Times Player of the Year following his junior year.
