ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's soccer teams were scheduled to play today but those matches have been postponed due to North Carolina Governor Mike Easley urging state institutions to conserve fuel during a statewide shortage.
The men's soccer team was scheduled to play at Appalachian State this afternoon but that match has been moved to Wednesday, Sept. 21. The women's soccer team was scheduled to play at Gardner-Webb this afternoon but that match will be played at a later date to be determined.
The men's soccer team has yet to play a match this season and will attempt to open the 2005 campaign at home this Friday afternoon (Sept. 9) against Belmont at 4 p.m.
The women's soccer team is off to a 2-0-0 start and is scheduled to play next at home this Saturday afternoon (Sept. 10) against South Carolina State at 2 p.m.
