PRINCETON, N.J. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team closed out its second weekend of its fall preparations on Sunday, Sept. 24.

At the Princeton Ivy Plus Invitational, UNC Asheville's Henry Patten in the Tiger Draw singles bracket dropped his match on Sunday to South Carolina's Yancy Dennis, 6-4, 6-2.

The loss to Dennis concluded a weekend where Patten went 2-2. He opened the event with a narrow 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) loss to Jason Kros of Virginia Tech on Friday, Sept. 22. Patten then had his first opponent in Penn's Kyle Mautner on Saturday, Sept. 23, retire to leave Patten with the 6-4 win to move on to face Charlie Broom of Dartmouth. Patten then rebounded from a first set loss to take a 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 win over Broom.

Patten and doubles partner Jordan Belga advanced to the Pagoda doubles championship on Sunday, but fell 8-7 to the duo of Michael Rolski and William Matheson.

After finishing up its singles play on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the event, UNC Asheville finished out its time at the Elon Fall Invitational on Sunday with several doubles matches.

In the Phoenix doubles portion of the event on Sunday, UNC Asheville's duo of Andrew Sinai and Finlay Ray McFayden fell 8-5 to Roberts/Kohler of James Madison.

The Bulldog doubles duo of Reese Daly and Edward Colclough picked up an 8-7 win over Arduh/Bartra of North Carolina A&T on Sunday.
